Biography of David Boyd

Born the oldest of four boys, David began his love of carpentry at an early age. As with most curious young boys, David seemed to always try and "find out" how things were put together. His mom decided this "curiosity" could be put to use helping his grandfather restore their recently purchased home in Athens, GA. On weekends he spent time helping his grandfather renovate his farm house and maintain its fifteen acres. As he grew older, that "youthful energy" switched to athletics and eventually landed David a football scholarship. To earn money and keep in shape, David continued honing his carpentry skills by working construction in the summers. After graduating, David took a job at his old high school teaching ninth and tenth grade World History and Government. After two years David got the bug to move to Los Angeles and give acting a try. David landed several small roles on television and in film. In his down time he filled his and his friends' apartments with furniture pieces that he built in his garage. David's journey has come full circle; he has since moved back only minutes from his grandparents' house where he first learned to drive a nail.

SURPRISE BY DESIGN

David is now stuck between Robert, Rebecca and Peter trying to keep them straight and keep the carpentry work level. He is usually the one trying to keep the designers from "altering" the home owners existing furniture (he usually loses that battle). He has brought a great smile and great work ethic to the mix. David loves taking on the challenge of getting the work exactly right and done in only one day and teaching homeowners that they can do it; all they have to do is try. When David is not working on SURPRISE BY DESIGN, you can most likely find him either playing with his dogs or renovating his recently purchased home.
