Cheng Siwei is a renowned economist and former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, former Chairman of the China National Democratic Construction Association. He currently serves as president of the China Soft-Science Research Society, president of Research Center on Fictitious Economy and Data Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of International Financial Forum (Beijing). He received an MBA degree from UCLA and previously served as vice minister of Chemical Industry and as the director of the department of management sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published numerous academic books and over one hundred articles in prestigious academic journals and was named 2008 "Globalist of the Year" by the Canadian International Council.
