|
|
Brooke Bennett stormed the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games at 15 years old to win her first Olympic Gold Medal in the 800m freestyle. Brooke has followed the great American tradition set by Janet Evans in distance swimming in the United States. After winning two Gold Medals at the 2000 Sydney Games, Brooke graced the cover of the coveted Wheaties Box to join sports icons such as Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Roger Clemens. In 2002 Brooke suffered double shoulder injuries that resulted in surgery for both sidelining her meteoric rise in the Olympic world and forcing her to miss the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Now back in the pool full time training for the Beijing Games in 2008, Brooke has dedicated herself to working with adults and children on the importance of being fit both physically and nutritionally.
With her certification in both personal training and nutrition, Brooke possesses educational and career experience that no other athlete in the United States has. Brooke hopes to utilize her comeback and future success in developing a national dialogue about fitness and nutrition and how individuals and families can benefit from having accurate information and training techniques. Brooke hopes to humanize personal training and be a conduit to nutritional information not commonly known or understood by most parents and children.
