Biography of Bobby Slayton

Bobby Slayton, The Pit Bull of Comedy, has recently appeared in MGM's feature film BANDITS, directed by Barry Levinson (Wag the Dog and Rain Man). Slayton plays Darren Head, the host of a tabloid TV show called "Crime Stoppers," who has been following the exploits of two bank robbers (Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton). The movie opens with Bobby interviewing the pair in his home, and continues thoughout the movie in retrospect from their point of view. As the story unfolds and explains how the two break in to the home of Slayton's character, and force him to report the story, the pair end up fighting over a woman (Cate Blanchett) that they may (or may not) have kidnapped during a heist. The film's theater release was in November 2001 and is now available on videotape at most major video stores. Slayton's deal was brokered by Michael Livingston at The Artists Agency and Sherry Marsh of Marsh Entertainment.

Bobby is a regular on HBO's critically-acclaimed The Mind of the Married Man series which begins it's second season in September 2002. The Mind of the Married Man hbo.com/marriedman was created by and stars Mike Binder. Bobby's character is called, well, "Slayton".

Bobby also taped his own half hour comedy special, produced by Open Mike Productions, for Channel 5 in the United Kingdom. The special, taped in October, 2000 at the Comedy Store in London continues to be a raving success.

Bobby's movie appearances include the Sony Pictures' release Loser, directed by Amy Heckerling and starring Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari. Producer Twink Caplan does double-duty playing Gena, a barmaid in a strip club run by Bobby Slayton and a partner. He's also seen on screen in the Miramax release Third Wheel, starring Ben Affleck and Luke Wilson. Slayton costarred as "Joey Bishop," opposite Ray Liotta and Joe Mantegna, in the critically acclaimed HBO original movie The Rat Pack.
