Detailed Biography of Bob Pike
|
Bob Pike has well earned his reputation as "the trainer's trainer." He's been a trainer since 1969 and is most well-known as editor of the Creative Training Techniques Newsletter, published in the U.S. by the publisher of Training magazine, Lakewood Publications. He still personally delivers training keynote addresses and consulting value over 150 days each year. Bob has earned the rare Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) honor from the National Speakers Association and has, in person alone, shared his message with over 100,000 people around the world. In August of 1999, Bob received his CPAE (Council of Peers Award of Excellence) and was inducted into the Speakers Hall of Fame. Only 142 people have been awarded the CPAE since 1977. Only 47 people hold both the CPAE and CSP designations.
You may have experienced Bob's train-the-trainer sessions at the national American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) conferences each year since 1977, where he uses interactive techniques for groups as large as 2,500 people! Bob has been active in ASTD since 1972 and has served on their national Board of Directors, three national conference design committees, and as the Director of Special Interest Groups. Bob is often a featured speaker at ASTD Chapter meetings and workshops.
Bob Pike's Presentations The new edition of the Creative Training Techniques Handbook (3rd Edition), by Bob Pike, is a best-seller with over 100,000 combined copies of all editions in print. He has written or edited over 20 books (including 50 Creative Closers and One–on–One Training), seminars, and training videos. One of his hottest selling books is, Dealing with Difficult Participants (1997). His video by the BBC, Creative Training and Presentation Techniques won the "Best Business Video" award from the Special Interest Video Association. His latest video is Creative Training Techniques in Action!
Bob developed the Creative Training Techniques™ Seminar that now has over 100,000 alumni since only 1980. His unique instructor-led, participant-centered approach to training has become the mainstream, thanks to his tireless advocacy of more effective alternatives to lecture-based training.
