He began Raging Bull in 1997, and subsequently attracted $22 million in financing from and CNET. Raging Bull has become one of the largest financial destinations on the Web, attracting 3 million unique visitors and 300 million page views in January 2000.
In April 2001, Bill acquired Unstrung, Inc., an online media and events company that provides proprietary content, events and subscription offerings tied to the wireless industry. Unstrung's Stringer email report reaches over 20,000 wireless decision makers, and Unstrung.com receives over 100,000 unique visits per month.
Bill is the editor of the eFinance Insider, a biweekly report covering the efinance industry. The report has featured interviews with the CEOs of PayPal, CBS Marketwatch, and Yodlee and currently reaches over 20,000 subscribers.Bill is currently co-managing Silicon Ivy, a seed-stage venture capital firm targeting student-driven startup opportunities. Silicon Ivy has raised $8 million in financing from investors including Hummer Winblad and US Venture Partners.
Bill sits on the Board of Directors of Bank Rate, the Web's leading consumer banking marketplace with over 1.6 million unique visitors per month and distribution deals with AOL, YAHOO, MSN and many others. Bank Rate is a publicly traded company with over $15 million in annual revenue. Bill is an advisor and/or investor in a variety of startups, including Audiogalaxy, Project Napa, Infraweb, Village Ventures, Gerson Lehrman Group, and Traffick.com. He is also an advisor to the Fordham School of Business.
