Bert came to the United States at the very tender age of 11 months old with his mother, a single parent, who dreamed of a better life for her son. Little did she know how difficult it would be to obtain the American dream.

Being raised in a poverty stricken neighborhood did not offer Bert much hope for success. Yet, he knew from the beginning that there must be a better life and set out to find it.

So, he went to work, immersing himself with educational materials and reading as many motivational and self-help books he could get his hands on.
