As global chief marketing officer, Annie Young-Scrivner is responsible for developing the strategic framework for Starbucks. She is responsible for the global marketing, creative R&D and category function for Starbucks, which includes leadership of the food, merchandise, tea, coffee and other beverage categories.
 
In July 2011, Annie’s role was expanded to include leadership of the company’s Tazo tea brand. In this role, she is transforming tea for the company to support the long-term growth of this more than billion dollar brand.
 
Annie joined Starbucks in September 2009 in the newly created role of global chief marketing officer, leading the beverage, food, coffee and merchandise categories. She also helps build the company’s innovation pipeline and leads the creative, brand and marketing functions.
 
Annie’s background includes 20 years of global marketing strategy and people development experience. Prior to joining Starbucks, she was Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales for Quaker Foods and Snacks, a division of PepsiCo. She was past Chairman and Region President of PepsiCo Foods for Greater China, and had a global consumer brand portfolio that included Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade.
 
Annie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration-Marketing from the University of Washington, and a Master of Business Administration at the Carlson School of Business, University of Minnesota. She served on the board of directors with the YWCA in Chicago and has been active in several networking and mentoring organizations. Annie and her family live in Seattle.
