Detailed Biography of Ali Barone
|
Ali Barone is a New York City based decorating and design dynamo that has earned a BFA in set design and a MS in education. She has worked for almost 10 years as a freelance artist, stylist and designer in the NYC metropolitan area. She has designed stunning sets as the Art Director for several episodes of Comedy Central's Pulp Comics, various television commercials and theater productions. Her flare for creating unique and dramatic spaces led her to a successful interior career with several residential and commercial firms on the east coast in addition to being a design consultant for her husband's NYC based construction company. Ali has also enjoyed working as an educator and Arts coordinator for the city of New York. Most recently she has served as the production designer for the Children's Defense Fund Annual Benefit Gala in NYC.
Ali is best known as the popular, bright and bubbly female carpenter who has made over rooms for unsuspecting homeowners on the hit makeover show WHILE YOU WERE OUT. Her positive personality has made her an inspiration to men and women for over 40 episodes and 2 hit seasons. Her years spent as an educator, combined with her knockout designs for residential, landscape, commercial and television/theater productions have honed her DIY skills, which she happily shares with over 3 million viewers an episode. Ali is frequently asked to share her tips and tricks on national news programs, at home expos, and has most recently been featured as a designer on NBC's Today Show as well as TV Guide’s new series Open Call. She has appeared in several national and foreign newspapers as a "giant of home improvement" and all around leading design expert as well as the book “While You Were Out: The Rooms, the Cast, the Dreams”. Most recently, Ali has launched her own company, Ali Barone Creations, into a multidimensional consulting and design corporation specializing in creative interior and outdoor transformations, workshops for women and unique event planning for intimate occasions. |
