Biography of Adam Baldwin

As a youth in Chicago, Adam grew up with the image of the American hero, as depicted by the likes of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and Steve McQueen. As a Chicago teenager, Baldwin was chosen from among four thousand aspiring actors to play the title role in the 1980 feature film, "My Bodyguard." During the same year he also landed a part in "Ordinary People," directed by Robert Redford. In 1981 he moved to New York, where he furthered his acting studies, drove a truck, and saw Al Pacino perform in "American Buffalo" over thirty times.

Baldwin moved to Los Angeles in 1984, where he studied with the great Roy London. He has since played a variety of roles in a wide range of films. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and children.

His television movies have included Showtime's "The Trade Off," HBO's "Blind Justice," and NBC's " Murder in High Places," and of course "The Cape." Some Baldwin's feature films include Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket," "Radio Flyer," directed by Richard Donner, and Lawrence Kasdan's "Wyatt Earp." He had a major role in the science fiction interplanetary war film, "Independence Day", and more recently in Centropolis's SCI-FI Thriller: "The Visitor", and others being released in 1998. Mr. Baldwin also has been involved with Celebrity Hockey and of course, plays a mean game of golf! He was a member of the 1996 NHL All-Star Game held January 20th, at the Fleet Center, Boston, Ma., and Celebrity All Star Hockey Team in the 1997 Coca-Cola NHL All Star Weekend January 1997 in San Jose, CA.
