Steve and his wife, Terry, have been married for twenty-seven years. They have a daughter, Casie, and three sons - Kyle (married to Valerie), Kelly and Kramer. The Largents attend Fellowship Bible Church in Tulsa.
Steve was born on September 28, 1954, in Tulsa. He graduated from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City and received a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Tulsa. Following his retirement from the Seattle Seahawks, Steve owned his own advertising & marketing consulting firm, working with numerous Fortune 500 companies around the country. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1995. Steve's commitment to family and youth is well known, as is his service to community and charitable causes throughout Oklahoma and the nation. He serves on the Advisory Board of Young Life and the Tulsa Area Salvation Army and has served on the Board of Trustees at the University of Tulsa. In 1990, Steve was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the Jaycees. In recognition of a lifetime of achievement, Steve was awarded the Golden Plate Award by the American Academy of Achievement in 1989. He was recognized as the NFL Man of the Year in 1988 for his commitment to community service. Steve was also named as the first recipient of the Bart Starr Award by the Athletes in Action for serving as an exemplary role model both on and off the field.
