Created in 1993 with initial funding from IBM, and second wave funding from cable giant Cox Enterprises, Digital Domain has established a world-class reputation for technological innovation and artistry.

Digital Domain won an Academy Award in 1998 for Best Visual Effects for their work on the visually stunning film WHAT DREAMS MAY COME. In addition to two other Academy Award nominations, Digital Domain's work was honored with a second Oscar for its visual effects in the highly acclaimed film TITANIC in 1997. Digital Domain has garnered two Scientific and Technical Achievement Academy Awards for its proprietary software: first in 1998 for TRACK and then in 2001 for NUKE, a sophisticated compositing program.

Digital Domain's Feature Film Visual Effects Division most recently completed visual effects on Revolution Studio's 2002 Summer hit XXX starring Vin Diesel, as well as the highly anticipated Star Trek sequel -- STAR TREK X - NEMESIS. Some of this Division's work can be seen in Ron Howard's A BEAUTIFUL MIND, Cameron Crowe's VANILLA SKY, DreamWorks' THE TIME MACHINE and OH, BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? for the Coen Brothers.

Digital Domain's Commercials Division has continually established itself as the premiere visual effects studio in the advertising industry. With Fortune 500 clients such as Nike, American Express, Gatorade, Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola and Mercedes Benz, the Commercials Division has garnered Clio Awards for Visual Effects for the last five years.

The Commercials Division has also produced visual effects for numerous music videos, such as "Love Is Strong" by the Rolling Stones, Busta Rhymes and Janet Jackson's video for "What's It Gonna Be?" as well as projects for Michael Jackson and international sensation Bjork. The Stones video won the 1994 Grammy and MTV Music Video Awards for Best Visual Effects.

In addition to Digital Domain's visual effects divisions, Mr. Ross recently opened a production division, which is responsible for utilizing the studio's extensive industry relationships, years of production experience, and resources, to produce major motion pictures. The first feature film being produced by Mr. Ross and Digital Domain is entitled SECONDHAND LIONS, which will be released September 19, 2003. The film, written and directed by Tim McCanlies (IRON GIANT), stars Robert Duvall, Michael Caine and Haley Joel Osment for New Line Cinema.

A native of New York City, Mr. Ross began his career in Media Studies at Hofstra University where he graduated with a BS in Communication Arts in 1974. He returned to Hofstra in June of 1997 to receive an honorary doctorate degree from his alma mater. From the mid 1970s until 1988, Mr. Ross served in various positions at One Pass Film and Video, San Francisco's legendary post production studio where he ultimately served as the company's CEO. In 1988 Ross was recruited by Lucasfilm and became General Manager of Industrial Light and Magic. The company re-organized in 1991 and Mr. Ross was named VP of the LucasArts Entertainment Group, which was comprised of Skywalker Sound, LucasArts Commercial Productions, LucasArts Attractions, Editdroid/Soundroid and ILM
