A ten times international best-selling author, Dr. Pearsall blends his extensive professional, research, and teaching experience with his background as a musician, along with his life and work in Hawaii, to present unique and memorable “edu-concerts” and speeches. As founder, president and CEO of Ho’ala Hou (To Reawaken) in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Pearsall is dedicated to the application of ancient Hawaiian principles to modern living, working, and loving. For his lectures, workshops and keynote addresses, he combines the most current findings from psychology and behavioral medicine with inspiring anecdotes, humor, and motivating energy. A licensed clinical “psychoneuroimmunologist,” or specialist in the study of the healing mind, Dr. Pearsall holds a Ph.D. in clinical and educational psychology. He received the Distinguished Scholar award and graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan. He earned his Masters and Doctoral degrees at Wayne State University and did post-graduate training at Harvard Medical School, the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, the University of Colorado Medical School, and Indiana University where he was Director of Professional Education at the Kinsey Institute. Dr. Pearsall has published over 100 professional articles and 10 international best-selling books. His most recent book is entitled, The Heart’s Code, and deals with the cellular memories of donors as reported by heart transplant recipients. His next book, tentatively titled Wishing Well: Fulfilling your Hearts Desire, has been endorsed by Disney and is scheduled for publication in early 2000. As founder and former director of a large psychiatric clinic at Sinai Hospital, he received the Rush Gold Medal Award from the American Psychological Association for his work in preventive medicine.
