 Patricia S. Eyres (“Patti”) calls herself a “recovering litigator,” who knows firsthand the value of paying attention to prevention. After spending 18 years defending companies in the courtroom, she resolved to help business leaders recognize potential legal landmines before they explode into lawsuits. As a full-time speaker, trainer, and consultant, she brings a unique and practical perspective to the critical legal issues impacting the workplace.

        As founder and president of Litigation Management & Training Services, Inc., Ms. Eyres speaks internationally, consults with organizations on developing and enforcing effective policies, and trains managers to lead within legal limits. Her workshops focus on methods for preventing costly lawsuits or minimizing disruption when avoidable claims occur. Her public-sector clients include the U.S. Departments of the Navy and Energy, the States of California and Texas, five cities, 15 community colleges, and three universities. Private-industry clients include Pacific Life Insurance Company, James Hardie Industries, Nissan North America, Unocal Oil Refinery, Texaco Manufacturing & Marketing, Inc., Aramco Services Company, Admail West, Century Bank, PacifiCare, Honeywell Automation College, and George S. She delivered the Keynote Address for the U.S. Department of Energy Training Accreditation Conference, focusing on workplace liabilities in the nuclear industry. She has made guest appearances on radio and television on proactive legal management strategies.

        Ms. Eyres has earned the National Speakers Association’s Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, the speaking profession’s international measure of professional platform skill and proven professional achievement. As a consultant, she also works with employers to establish and enforce workplace policies for hiring, firing, performance management, and discipline. She works extensively on e-mail and Internet abuse policies. She is the author of more than 200 articles in print and two books on legal management of the workplace.

        Ms. Eyres is CEO and publisher of Proactive Law Press, LLC. Prior to founding Litigation Management & Training Services, Inc., Ms. Eyres was supervising partner of a law firm’s civil litigation department in California.
