Nancy began skating when she was about six, playing hockey with her brothers near their home outside of Boston. They say she more than held her own against a team of boys, determined to prove her skills. As she progressed up the competitive ladder, she was one of the few skaters whose technical skills and artistic presentation blended equally into a comprehensive, unique style.
She has overcome great odds to achieve her status as one of the country's most popular and sought after skaters for television specials, tours, and personal appearances and commercials. Her inner strength and commitment were evidenced in the highly publicized 1994 episode when she was physically attacked at the U.S. Nationals and returned a month later to win the coveted Olympic silver medal in one of the most-watched and closest decisions in Olympic skating.

She has made countless television appearances and her Halloween specials with guest stars were among the most popular in recent years. Most recently, this past fall and winter, she appeared in Skating Goes Country and Nashville Christmas on Ice, as well as making a cameo appearances in the new skating film Ice Angel due for release later this year. She also starred in a video and fairy tale of Alice Through the Looking Glass, and plans to create a series of videos based on popular children's books.
