Judge Mablean has considerable experience in the legal field which would qualify her to be a legal commentator and/or to be cast in a law and order series as an attorney and/or judge.

LEGAL BACKGROUND

Judge Mablean served as a prosecuting attorney for the City of Los Angeles for five years.  In this role, she prosecuted criminal misdemeanor matters ranging from vehicular manslaughter, domestic violence, abuse against spouses, children, parents, girlfriends and/or boyfriends.  She was instrumental in drafting of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act of California which made assaults against spouses, children, girlfriends/boyfriends or other relatives a crime.

She is an experienced trial attorney.  Judge Mablean opened her private practice in 1982.  She initially practiced criminal defense.  She has tried criminal cases from murder to traffic offenses.

In addition, she has considerable judicial experience.  She presided as a juvenile court traffic referee, traffic court, small claims temporary judge, City of Los Angeles Hearing Examiner hearing appeals from disciplinary and termination proceedings, as well as a temporary judge in family law.

Judge Mablean was highly regarded among her peers, often being referred to as “the lawyer’s lawyer, the judge’s lawyer” having represented many attorneys and judges in their divorce proceedings.

She has a development project for a talk show and /a court show dealing with relationship issues.  Her experience as a battered wife, a step-parent, a foster-parent, as well as her experience in handling family matters, such as divorce, child custody and support matters, probate (death/inheritance), guardianship of minors and conservatorship of ailing adults, uniquely qualifies her to discuss these matters and offer solutions.
