Joy Bauer has built one of the largest nutrition centers in the country. Located in Manhattan, Joy Bauer Nutrition, provides counseling to both adults and children dealing with a variety of nutritional concerns, including weight management, diabetes, eating disorders, cardiac rehabilitation, sports nutrition, food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, pregnancy, lactation, and menopause. Her second center opened this past summer in Westchester, New York. Recognized as one of the leading nutrition authorities, Joy has a clientele that includes high-profile professionals, celebrity actors, fashion models, and Olympic athletes. She regularly appears on national television shows, including ABC’s Good Morning America, The View, Entertainment Tonight, NBC- Today in New York, and VH1, and is continuously interviewed and featured in national publications, including Self, Fitness, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Glamour, US Weekly, Ladies’ Home Journal, Family Circle, Oxygen, Lifetime, Real Simple, Men’s Fitness, Woman's Day, Allure, Seventeen, Parenting, Cosmo Girl, Teen People, The New York Daily News, and the New York Post. In addition, Joy is a contributing editor with Self magazine and regularly lectures and conducts workshops on nutrition and fitness across the United States. Joy is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Total Nutrition (Alpha Books 2002), and The 90/10 Weight Loss Plan, both best sellers. Joy received her Bachelor degree in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland and a master of science in nutrition from New York University. In the beginning of her career, Joy completed a 5-year post as Director of Nutrition and Fitness for the "Heart-Smart Kids Program" -- a program that she developed for the Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Department of Pediatric Cardiology in New York City. Joy also served as nutrition consultant to the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she designed and supervised their ongoing research in eating disorders and weight management. Furthermore, Joy served as the clinical nutritionist with the Neurosurgical team at Mount Sinai Medical Center and taught anatomy & physiology and sports nutrition at New York University's School of Continuing Education. She was also the exclusive nutritionist for New York University's faculty, students, and athletes.
