He began BMX riding in 1982 in Thunder Bay Canada at the age of eleven. Upon finishing high school Miron went right into his first summer BMX tour. Througout his twenty plus year career Miron is credited with having invented over 30 tricks including the double backflip and backflip variations.

In 1998 Miron started his own BMX distributing company out of Vancouver, Canada, called UP-NORTH BMX SUPPLY. In 2000, frustrated by the fact that riders didn't have enough input into the design of their bikes, Jay took matters into his own hands and started his own company - MacNeil Bikes. To this day, MacNeil remains committed to cranking out the highest quality products around.

Miron was the first rider to do double barspins, boomerang airs, 540 tailwhips, and double backflips. He vows to pull the 540 double tailwhip before his professional career is over. Miron has competed in the X Games every year since 1995 and has nine medals to show for it including six silver medals and one gold.
