Buckingham's firm publishes the leading trend forecasting product, The Cassandra Report. The report is issued three times a year and addresses trends in fashion, lifestyle, hot products, technology and entertainment, among others. The company also created trendcentralJ which includes a daily e-mail and comprehensive Internet trend site about 12-35 year olds, covering fashion, beauty, lifestyle, technology, and entertainment. Ms. Buckingham, who at 17 wrote the book Teens Speak Out, is a regular contributor to Good Morning America, The Style Network, and Cosmopolitan Magazine. She has also had recent appearances on Fox News, National Geographic Explorer and 60 Minutes. Buckingham is a columnist for the New York Times syndicate for which she writes a weekly column on trends. She has been featured in The New York Times, Fortune and The Boston Globe. She has also written for magazines including Marie Claire, Mademoiselle, Brandweek, and McCall's and has served as an advisor for the books Revolution X and Teens Shopping for a Better World. Prior to founding her own company, Jane was the Vice President, Director of Youth Marketing, for Houston Herstek Favat, a national advertising agency with offices in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, where she worked on such accounts as The Massachusetts Anti Smoking Effort and Converse. She has held various management positions at BBDO and FCB/Leber Katz. Jane is a graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in English. |
