In 1972, Dr. Bell founded Bell Leadership, a consulting firm that works with CEOs and other senior leaders to provide their organizations with advanced leadership development. Two of Dr. Bell's most striking attributes are his effectiveness and his passion for his mission—helping leaders increase their effectiveness so that they can achieve high level of performance and contribute to their own lives, to the lives of their families, and to their organizations and society.
Dr. Bell has conducted leadership-training sessions for approximately 500,000 leaders in more than 4,700 organizations from over 85 countries.
Over the years, thousands have enrolled in Dr. Bell's open programs held in Chapel Hill or sought his services for on-site programs, master classes, and executive retreats. He also delivers keynote speeches, alongside other well-known business experts such as Steven Covey, Ken Blanchard, and Michael Porter. Dr. Bell is the author of the widely read book, The Achievers, and he co-authored the New York Times Best Seller, The Carolina Way, with Coach Dean Smith and John Kilgo. He is currently working on Great Leaders, Great Results which is due in bookstores in 2005. In addition, he is researching and writing a series of books which will include Selecting Achievers; Advanced Communication: Mastering the 7 Essential Skills of Effective Communication; and Money, Families & Children.
In addition to his books, Dr. Bell has created the Bell Personality Profile and several other assessment tools for individuals and companies to use in determining their strengths and weaknesses.
Dr. Bell earned master's and doctoral degrees from Yale University. He also earned bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology and business, respectively, from the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with honors from both universities. In addition to teaching, consulting, and writing, Dr. Bell enjoys time with his family at home in Chapel Hill. He is an avid golfer, fly fisherman, runner, and Western art collector.
