He recently joined with Jakob Nielsen to form the Nielsen Norman Group, a firm that specializes in executive-level management consulting on human-centered design. Before founding the Group, Norman was Senior Technical Advisor and head of the Appliance Design Center in the Consumer Products Group of Hewlett-Packard, charged with deploying the next generation of information appliances. The goal was to develop a new line of products for consumers that fit human needs in an elegant, easy to use manner: a joy to own, a joy to use.
Prior to his job at HP, Norman served as Vice President of the Apple Research Laboratories as well as Apple Fellow at Apple Computer. |
