Printable Biography of Diane Elms

For a number of years I worked as a successful professional photographer. One day in May 1995 my life changed dramatically. While lifting photo equipment from my vehicle, I seemingly pulled a muscle in my upper back and arm. As the week progressed, I lost mobility in both arms and legs. During the next 18 months, there were times when I couldn't walk or even lift my arms to comb my hair. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. The prognosis: "Learn to live with the pain and get ready for a wheelchair." Something rose up inside me. I could not accept these circumstances. At this point I went to see an iridologist. I knew absolutely nothing about iridology and was very skeptical. To my surprise, iridology gave me some health-related answers as well as a new focus in life. I became certified as an iridologist in 1998. Then I continued with studies in nutrition, anatomy, physiology and counseling. In 2002, I upgraded to the international level of iridology and became one of a handful of certified instructors in Canada under the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA). Believing there is a mind, body and spirit connection in achieving total health and wellness, I gained my ministerial ordination in 2004. Over the years I have also read extensively and taken courses in the areas of self-development and corporate training. In 2006 IIPA awarded me Iridologist of the Year for outstanding contributions to the field of iridology. My dream to build the Phoenix Rising Center www.phoenixrisingcenter.com comes from the desire that all are given the opportunity to achieve total wellness. As an accomplished speaker, teacher, motivator, personal and corporate trainer, I listen to my clients' needs and develop workshops that unlock the potential of individuals and companies. I have worked with large corporations, governments, non-profit organizations, service clubs, Christian organizations and businesses of all sizes. With my unique combination of skills, I am able to help individuals understand who they are. By understanding yourself, you can better understand those working around you. This reduces stress, and is conducive to an atmosphere of co-operation in the workplace. Foundational is the understanding that the only person you have control over is YOU. As you and your group listen to my life story you will realize I walk the talk. My transparency, energy, knowledge and skills encourage all to participate and embrace the journey before them. Along the way I am able to incorporate my extensive health and wellness experience, while teaching life skills. As part of a workplace seminar, for instance, this has a potential to create a more efficient healthier workforce. I motivate small and large groups alike to unlock their best.
