Dean Hill has over 14 years experience in landscape construction and more than 10 years designing quality residential projects. He holds an undergraduate degree in telecommunications and a Master of Landscape Architecture degree, both from Ball State University. He is president and principal designer at Terratecture, a landscape architecture design studio specializing in the use of native plant material and the incorporation of contemporary sculpture in residential and commercial landscapes.
Dean currently shares his landscape construction and design knowledge with students of Ball State University's department of landscape architecture in a design/build studio. He has also accepted an invitation to serve on the professional advisory council for the landscape architecture program at Purdue University. Dean is the immediate past president of the American Society of Landscape Architects Indiana Chapter. He has served on the Indiana chapter's executive committee for four years as member-at-large, president-elect, president and immediate past president. In 2003 Dean accepted a two-year appointment to sit on the ASLA policy committee. In addition, he holds certification as a Master Gardener, INLA (Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association) -certified Plantsman and INLA-certified Master Plantsman. Dean is a long-standing member of the Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society and the International Sculpture Center. He has presented and written articles on tips for incorporating sculpture into landscape design. |
