Since 1993, Pang as worked for ESPN and ESPN2 as a National Hockey League game analyst and reporter. Pang was called up from Milwaukee of the International Hockey League by the Chicago Blackhawks in February 1985, and joined the team full-time during the 1987-88 season. In 1988, he was a finalist for the NHL Rookie of the Year and was named to the NHL All-Rookie team. He also worked as a guest analyst for ESPN during the 1988 Norris Division playoffs. Pang decided on retirement after a knee injury during the 1990 offseason. Since his retirement, Pang has accumulated extensive experience in radio and television broadcasting. Most recently, he worked as an ice-leve reporter for CBS's coverage of men's hockey during the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, and NBC's coverage of the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City. Pang also has remained active in the game at the amateur level. He formerly served as goaltending coach for the University of Notre Dame, and currently serves as the director of hockey development for Sabre Youth Hockey in Naperville, Ill. |
